COOKIE POLICY
What are cookies?
As is common practice with almost all professional websites, this site uses cookies, which are tiny files downloaded to your computer or mobile device to improve your experience. This page describes what information we gather, how we use it, and why we sometimes need to store these cookies. We will also share how you can prevent these cookies from being stored, however, this may downgrade or ‘break’ certain elements of the site’s functionality. For more general information on cookies, see the Wikipedia article on HTTP Cookies.
We distinguish several types of cookies based on:
- Time duration: session cookies – these are stored only temporarily and are deleted from the user’s device after closing the browser; and persistent cookies – these remain stored until they are manually deleted or deleted by the browser based on the cookie’s expiration date.
- Entity: first-party – cookies created by the Controller of the website the user is currently visiting; and third-party – cookies created by an entity that does not operate the website the user is currently visiting. Third-party cookies are those placed on the Data Subject’s device by another entity while using the Controller’s website. Third-party cookies may be placed by someone providing a service to the Controller (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Double Click, and Google Tag Manager). Third parties do not have access to data in the Controller’s cookies, and similarly, the Controller does not have access to third-party cookies.
- Legal basis for processing: cookies for which consent is not required by the visitor – e.g., strictly necessary technical cookies; and cookies for which consent is required – e.g., analytical and advertising cookies.
Technical cookies:
- User input cookies – consistent tracking of user input during a series of message exchanges with the service provider (Controller),
- Authentication cookies – identifying the user after logging in,
- User security cookies – increasing service security; protecting the login system; detecting fraudulent login attempts,
Third-party cookies:
- Analytical cookies: measuring website traffic, campaigns, and tracking user site visits,
- Analytical cookies: identifying the first session of a new user (unique visits),
- Marketing cookies:
- Tracking pixels – tracking user behavior, site conversions, ad optimization, etc.,
- Advertising cookies – storing a unique ID that identifies the device of a returning visitor for ad targeting purposes,
- User tracking cookies via social media plug-ins,
- Third-party advertising cookies – behavioral advertising.
- Cookie banner: the window that appears after visiting the site, requiring you to allow or refuse cookies.
Why we use cookies:
We use cookies for a variety of reasons detailed below. Unfortunately, in most cases, there are no industry standard options for disabling cookies without completely disabling the functionality and features they add to this site. It is recommended that you leave on all cookies if you are not sure whether you need them or not in case they are used to provide a service that you use.
How can cookie usage be configured or disabled?
Upon the first visit to the Controller’s website, only strictly necessary cookies are stored on the Data Subject’s device. When visiting the website, the Data Subject is shown a pop-up window or cookie banner with a message alerting them to the use of cookies. Unless the Data Subject accepts/enables all cookies or selects individual preferences, this setting remains unchanged.
By clicking the relevant button in the pop-up window or cookie banner, the Data Subject acknowledges the use of necessary cookies by the Controller as described in this policy. Regarding all other types of cookies used by the Controller, these will not be stored on the Data Subject’s device unless the Data Subject consents to their use, which can be withdrawn at any time. Data about the Data Subject obtained via cookies is thus obtained voluntarily, directly from the Data Subject.
After setting preferences, every Data Subject can manage cookies in their internet browser. Different browsers have different procedures for disabling or enabling cookies, usually found in the “Options” or “Tools” menu. Directly in the browser, the Data Subject has the option to manage cookies related to basic functions, website improvement, personalization, and advertising. For new settings to take effect, a page refresh might be necessary. If certain cookies are disabled or opted out of, the Controller’s website will no longer access or read these files.
Various files, scripts, codes, or other information related to cookies may remain stored on the device. The Data Subject can remove these by clearing the browser’s cookies and cache through the browser settings; note that any setting change applies only to that specific browser.
The website http://www.allaboutcookies.org provides comprehensive information on adjusting cookie settings across a wide range of browsers. The Controller points out that as they are neither the owner nor the operator of this website, they bear no responsibility for its content.
The Controller also warns that if necessary cookies (or all cookies) are disabled via browser settings, one or more basic website functions, including those intended to ensure a secure visit, may not function correctly or at all.
Furthermore, the Controller warns that if the Data Subject refuses or withdraws consent for the use of any non-necessary cookies or personal data, the corresponding feature or function of these websites may not work correctly or at all. Use of basic functions and general website functionality will not be affected by this.
Cookies on this site are used for the following purposes:
Strictly Necessary cookies are cookies without which the Controller’s website would not function correctly; they are automatically placed on the Data Subject’s device and cannot be turned off. Necessary cookies cannot identify the user and are used only to guarantee the correct display of the website.
Functional cookies serve to allow the Controller to identify the Data Subject when returning to their website and help improve functionality and security, including remembering preferences and managing performance.
Use of IP address and other tools on the website:
Third-party tools that utilize the Data Subject’s IP address and/or cookies may also be placed on these websites.
Such a tool may be, for example, a Facebook plugin that connects the Data Subject to their Facebook profile; detailed information on its use can be found at: https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/;

Not all cookies used by this website are capable of identifying the Data Subject and are therefore not always considered personal data. Nevertheless, the Controller informs that every Data Subject has the right to request access to their personal data, rectification or erasure, or restriction of processing, the right to object to processing where legitimate interest is the legal basis, and the right to lodge a complaint with the Office for Personal Data Protection if the Controller and/or Processor acts in violation of the Regulation and/or Law.
